Bella Shmurda (Abiola Ahmed Akinbiyi), who hails from Ikorodu in Lagos, broke into the scene with his conscious classic ‘Vision 2020’ in 2019. The remix featured rap legend Olamide. He followed it up with ‘Cash App’ featuring Zlatan and Lincoln, released in 2020. Bella Shmurda’s unique voice and uncanny ability to touch on his generation’s joy, pain, struggles and victory earned him the title ‘voice of the street.’ His debut album ‘HYPERTENSION’ helped establish him as one of the leading stars in the new class of Afrobeats star acts. In 2023, he released a new EP called ‘DND’.
